Drive this post into the ground, slide a gong onto the fork, and start ringing steel. No brackets. No 2x4s. No chains or assembly required.

Cut from 3/8" AR500 steel, this post handles the same abuse as the targets hanging from it. It won't bend, warp, or fold when a round catches the edge. The open fork at the top lets you swap gongs in seconds without tools.

Available in 40" and 50" lengths. Target gongs sold separately. Shop AR500 gun targets here.

How It Works

Drive the post into the ground with a post driver or hammer. The top of the post has an open fork slot. Drop your gong onto the slot. Shoot.

When you want to change targets, lift the gong off and drop a different one on. No bolts, no hardware, no fumbling at the range. The static design holds your target in a fixed position for consistent shot placement.

Why AR500 for the Post

Most target stands use mild steel, or wood for the stand, and reserve AR500 for the target plate only. That works until a round catches the post instead of the target.

This post is cut from the same 3/8" AR500 plate as the gongs it holds. When you miss the target and hit the stand, the stand doesn't care.

Size Guide

40" post - Works well for pistol-height targets and shorter shooting positions. After driving 10-12" into the ground, your target hangs at roughly waist to chest height.

50" post - Better for standing rifle positions and taller target setups. Gives you more height flexibility and works well on uneven ground where you need extra length driven in for stability.

Choose based on your typical shooting position and terrain.

Where It Works

This post goes anywhere you can drive steel into dirt. Rocky pasture, back-40 fence lines, gravel pits, private range berms, or open fields. If you already own a post driver, setup takes less than a minute per post.

Run a single post for zeroing, or drive a line of them at distance intervals for a full course of fire. Swap gongs between posts as your drill changes.

Pair It with TOPO Target Gongs

This post is designed to work with TOPO Motorsports target gongs (sold separately). Browse our full selection of AR500 steel gongs and targets to complete your setup.

Safety

Always follow safe shooting practices when using steel targets. Wear eye protection. Never shoot steel targets with steel-core, armor-piercing, or bi-metal ammunition. Inspect targets and posts regularly for damage, pitting, or deformation. Replace any target or post that shows significant wear. Shooter assumes all responsibility for safe use.
